 
 
The Mutchler Community Center now offers members a new cardio room. MCC received a $7,500 grant from the Davis County Foundation in December 2006 to help finance the room. The Mutchler Community Center Commission funded the remainder of the $20,000 project.
As well as remodeling the room, several pieces of Gold’s Gym fitness equipment were purchased — fourteen pin select weight machines, two treadmills, an elliptical machine, stair steppers and recumbent bikes.
“The cardio room is a great addition to our facility,” said Sam Eakins, MCC director. “We can now offer our members equipment for a cardio workout as well as the weight training and exercise equipment we already had.”
MCC staff offers free education to members and non-members wishing to use the equipment.
The center organizes and sponsors adult volleyball and basketball leagues, in addition to basketball leagues for children 1st - 6th grades, soccer leagues for grades 1st – 8th, flag football for grades 1st – 4th, youth volleyball for 5th and 6th grades, and T-ball for children ages 4 – 7 years.
MCC staff also offers aerobics classes as well as free training on correct usage of equipment.
The Mutchler Community Center was built in 1999 after Glen Mutchler, an area farmer, generously bequeathed $1,000,000 to the City of Bloomfield to establish a recreation center for young people.
MCC totals an area of 18,000 square feet and sports a suspended indoor track, one racquetball court, a weight-training area featuring free weights, weight machines, and cardio fitness machines, as well as a full-size gymnasium which can be split into two courts. Two meeting rooms and full size kitchen are included in the facility.

Mondays – Thursdays 6 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Fridays 6 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturdays 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sundays 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. (closed on Sundays during the summer)

Facility rental: determined per event; generally around $100/hr.
Large parties will be charged a $25 janitorial fee. (These prices are for the large meeting room only. You will be charged accordingly if your party wishes to use other areas of the facility. If your party goes past the scheduled rented time, please be considerate of our employees and the Center by contacting the front desk and making additional arrangements. You will be charged an additional $20/hr. on all rentals past the scheduled closing time.) |
