The City of Bloomfield Police Department staffs five full-time officers, led by Chief Chase Johnson. All of these officers are ILEA certified. A full-time office manager, Sabrina Yahnke, rounds out the department.

Officers patrol approximately 4000 miles per month, while answering an average of 12 calls per day.

The department participates in the Governor’s Traffic Safety Program (sTEP), and the South Central Task Force. Educational programs offered to the community include D.A.R.E., and the i Pledge Program through the State Alcoholic Beverages Division.

As Chief of Police, I am honored and committed to serving the needs of our residents. My family and I are excited to be part of the Bloomfield community. My belief is that our approach must be rooted in sensitivity to the needs of our community, while also ensuring that we respond effectively to your concerns and requirements. One of my priorities is enhancing our community engagement programs, particularly for our youth. Through proactive policing and community outreach, including regular community meetings, I am committed to ensuring that Bloomfield Police Department’s enforcement of the law is ethical, constitutional and fair.
